Before you start

System Requirements

The minimum system requirements for this software are an IBM AS/400 with at least 3 Megabytes of free disk space. The operating system must be OS/400 release V3R2 or greater.

Installing the Program Product (AS/400 Software)

To install the program product, simply execute the file downloaded and follow the instructions that will appear in the Setup wizard. Ensure that you are attached by PC to the target AS/400 and have the Shared Folders mapped or the TCP/IP connection enabled.

After the install programs are restored, the install prompt will appear as follows:

Either leave the library name at the default of SDALIB or pick another library name for the product to be installed into and press Enter. If the library doesn't exist, the program will prompt you if you want the program to create it.

Once the library exists, press Enter to start the install.

Follow the installation prompts on the screen. Once the install process is over, the authorization entry screen appear as in the following example:

Key in the authorization code given to you for your particular serial number and CPU model and press Enter. The authorization code will give you temporary or permanent access to the product.

Once the authorization code has been entered, the main menu will appear.

Be sure to complete the following options from the main menu to enable the product:

  • Set-up Control Information
  • Work with Job Schedules
  • Work with Object Grouping Rules
  • Work with Profile Grouping Rules
  • Set-up Monitor Information

These options are defined in detail in the User Manual, but every on-line screen has cursor-sensitive and screen overall help enabled. Be sure that you press Enter after changing options in these functions to ensure that the changes are registered. These programs have a built-in verification feature that allows you to back out of the changes made by using F3 or F12.
