April 6, 2000 - FTP InstallationsBlackGold Systems Group Inc. is pleased to announce that you can now install packages using FTP directly to your AS/400 using predefined FTP scripts within the install package. You will need to be attached to the AS/400 using TCP/IP and you will need to supply the User Profile, Password, and Library name for storing the save file. This will eliminate the need to use Shared Folders to install, compile, and run utilities to load the save file to the target AS/400. This will also eliminate the need to have an RPG compiler licensed on the target machine to compile these utilities. Only AS/400 object code (CISC or RISC) will be installed on the AS/400. The installation method of shared folders will still be supported for those potential customers that either do not use TCP/IP connections to their AS/400's, or simply wish to use this method. |
