Mapping a Drive
You must map a network drive before you can use shared folders.
To map a drive for use by shared folders
- On the Tools menu, click Map Drive to open the Map Drive dialog box.
- In the Drive box, select the drive letter that you want to map.
Note Since only active AS/400 systems drives can be assigned, the Host Folder box will automatically display the current system name.
- In the Host Folder box, type in the name of the folder to which you want the drive assigned. For example:
\\SYSTEM10\FOLDER2\SUBFLDA
Note If you assign the drive to a system only, the drive is assigned to all folders in that system.
- Click Reconnect At Startup if you want to have these drives reconnect when you start NS/Folders.
- Click OK to map the drive, or click Cancel to return to the main window without making any changes.
Note Long filenames are not supported by NS/Folders when copied to any folder below the \QDLS folder on the AS/400. If you are attempting to copy files with long names to a folder that does not support long filenames, the system generates an error message. You will need to shorten your filename in order to proceed with the copy.
